Interesting Facts:

1. Carrie Bradshaw's computer is now housed in the Smithsonian Institution (the producers of the feature

film had to borrow it back temporarily from the Smithsonian for the movie).

2. Samantha’s number at the Christie’s auction is 969. The director wanted it to be 69, but Christie’s does

not have that number available at their auctions.

3. The scene where Carrie is discussing an article about aging with the editor of Vogue is actually filmed in

the offices of Teen Vogue.

4. The actor who plays Brady is the same actor that played Brady when he was 1.

5. When the actress who plays Lily was dressing up in Carrie’s closet, she got nervous and announced she had

to use the restroom. She used the toilet in Carrie’s apartment, which was not a real toilet.

6. Elizabeth Taylor in the movie is the same Cavalier King Charles that was used in the series

7. Carrie and Louise go to a bar and are discussing a text message Louise has received from a gentleman.

Carrie is insisting it’s a booty call. The murals in the background are by the same artist who created

Madeline. The murals depict New York City through the seasons.

8. The Louis Vuitton bag that Carrie gives Louise for Christmas was released to the public on the same day

that the movie was released.

9. The director personally placed all of the sushi on Kim Catrell.

10. The cab driver that brings Miranda to visit Carrie is the same actor that played the cab driver in the

second episode of the series.

Goofs:

1. Visible crew/equipment: In the scene where Big and Carrie meet in their cars after Big fled the wedding

you can see down the street in the distance a huge amount of SATC fans have gathered to watch the

filming.

2. Continuity: When Samantha is lying on the table covered in sushi and the phone rings, she moves and the

piece of sushi on her shoulder falls down. There is a visible piece of double sided stick tape there to hold

the sushi in place. In the scene time elapses, but it is understood Samantha never leaves the table and

remains covered in sushi. When the shot returns to her close up, the piece of tape has been removed from

her shoulder.

3. Other: In the scene where Carrie is reading bits of love letters to Big, she reads from a letter from

Napoleon to Josephine and uses the line "I awake consumed with you". In Napoleon's actual letter he wrote

"I awake filled with you" and for a brief moment you see the book Carrie is reading from, which shows the

correct text.

4. Continuity: When Miranda takes a sip of her latte in the restaurant scene with Steve, only half of her

upper lip has foam on it. In the next shot of her it is covering the whole of her upper lip.

5. Continuity: When Carrie is talking to Miranda on her bed she has a Sharpie pen attached to her sundress

strap, in another shot it is gone, then in the next shot the Sharpie is back.

6. Continuity: When Carrie is feeling depressed in Mexico and is being fed food in bed by Samantha, there is a

teapot on the tray on the bed. The scene changes back and forth between Samantha and Carrie and each

time it changes, the style of the teapot completely changes. When it's a shot of Samantha, it's a regular

teapot with a lid, and when it's a shot of Carrie, it changes to an art deco style pot with no lid whatsoever.

7. Continuity: When the girls are at the restaurant in Mexico and the waiter brings over the drinks, he first

hands Charlotte the bottled water and then hands Samantha the drink. The camera pans back to the waiter

holding the drinks and the bottle of water is still there along with 2 other drinks.

8. Visible crew/equipment: Early into the film, the girls walk on the street next to a white window shop. The

reflection of the opposite sidewalk is that of a wooden barrier with hundreds of people behind; but when

the angle changes, the barrier is gone and the sidewalk is filled with passersby.

Discussion Questions:

1. Carrie is obviously taken with the penthouse apartment and Mr. Big sees something in her that makes him

want to buy it for her. What does your home say about you?

2. When Carrie and Mr. Big are first looking at the penthouse, she is quite ecstatic until the agent implies

that she should be married. One of the recurring themes in the movie is that the women are happy until

society tells them something about their situation is less than it should be. What in your life are you

feeling discontented about because society has indicated it is something you should try to change?

3. Which of the 4 main characters are you most like and why?

4. In what ways are Miranda and Carrie culpable in their respective situations?

5. In the movie, the women spend a number of holidays alone over the course of a year. Which holiday do you

think or know is the worst for you to experience alone?

6. Carrie makes a conscious decision to change her environment when she colors her hair and redecorates her

apartment as a way of embracing being single, perhaps permanently. In what ways are you holding back on

improving your situation because you are waiting for something else to happen?

7. Mr. Big clearly sees Carrie’s needs and desires when he rebuilds the closet. Later, Carrie clearly sees

Louise when she gives her the Louis Vuitton purse. In what ways do you see the needs and wants of others

around you in a way they don’t see themselves?

8. Whom would you have the most difficulty forgiving? How do you forgive people?

The Evening: This is a great night to dress “fabulously” and get sushi takeout!
